Hosted Telecommunications

Hosted Telecommunications is quickly becoming a cost effective and reliable solution for businesses to quickly deploy Enterprise-Class Telecommunications and Internet solutions without the large infrastructure investment. QNET Services offers a powerful new Hosted Telecommunications service created to bring the full promise of affordable Voice over IP (VoIP) Telephony to businesses. QNET Services enables voice communication over internet protocol (IP) networks, which at the same time reduces costs by combining voice and data traffic on a single converged network.

Over recent years as businesses have adopted VoIP / IP Telephony they have traditionally used two decision strategies. The first preserves a company's existing infrastructure investment. Another builds a converged infrastructure from the ground up. Both strategies still have their place when evaluating infrastructure investment and business evolution. QNET Services' Hosted Telecommunications creates a third decision strategy, which allows businesses to leverage into Enterprise-Class communication systems without leveraging into traditional infrastructure investment.

Other advantages occur when businesses consider communications between branches, remote or mobile worker locations. Hosted Telecommunications is not sensitive to these dislocated locations; it handles them as normal phone extensions. Expanding businesses deploying additional remote employees and/or locations are faced with an operational decision and not necessarily an infrastructure investment decision. Not only can Hosted Telecommunications provide communications between business locations, it can also enable temporary campaign and workforce communications; again, this becomes a temporary operational decision and not necessarily a permanent infrastructure investment decision.

Benefits:

  • Minimal or No Infrastructure Investment, standard data wiring required
  • Minimal or No System Maintenance Cost
  • Technical Support Immediately Available
  • Minimal or No IT Department Required
  • Latest Communications Software and Upgrades
  • Quick Business Unit Expansion or Contraction
  • Multiple Networked Locations
  • Single Bill for Multiple Locations

General VoIP Information:

What Is VoIP?

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Over the last several years, telecommunication networks have been changing from analog to digital technology. An IP network uses data packets to deliver higher standards of reliability and efficiency.

Why VoIP?

While some users are sometimes satisfied with VoIP calls that route over the Internet, most business users demand the call quality, features and reliability that can only come from using a fully Managed IP Network that never comes in contact with the World Wide Web (Internet). Managed IP Networks optimize VoIP traffic creating business Class-Of-Service (CoS) and Quality-Of- Serivce (QoS) expected from business telephony services. However, using an un-managed network, such as the Internet for a best-effort voice solution still has its place as a cost efficient business deployment strategy. Utilizing existing broadband connections remote workers, telecommuters, office expansions, off-site campaign programs are quickly outfitted with centralized communication tools.

Most Common Ways to Make VoIP Phone Calls

There are two common types of equipment that you can use to make VoIP calls over the Internet and to take advantage of all the benefits of VoIP service.

One common way to use VoIP is to use a broadband phone. Broadband phones have all the necessary equipment and software built-in to use VoIP service, but instead of having the standard RJ-11 phone connectors, Internet phones have an RJ-45 Ethernet connector. The phone plugs directly into your broadband or WiFi router using a power over ethernet power supply. It is easy to install - simply Plug-in & Talk.

Another common way is through the use of a device called an ATA (analog telephone adaptor). The ATA is an analog-to-digital converter. It is a device that allows you to connect your standard phone to your Internet connection for use with VoIP service. The telephone adapter converts voice signals from your telephone into the digital "IP" format required for transmission over your broadband connection. The adapter is connected to your DSL or cable modem, your PC or router, and to any digital phone.

A Case for Hosted Telecommunications - A Business Communication System in a Box

Small Office Home Office - Hosted Telecommunications

The Problem: If you have ever setup a small office or home office, you may have found that you have limited choices in terms of your communication system. One common communication strategy businesses take is to purchase a small PBX system and pay for a few phone lines from their local dial-tone provider. Then, contract with a local Internet provider for data connectivity. Great, your business is ready to go and it now owns and maintains all of the phones and phone equipment. However, there is an alternative, Hosted Telecommunications.

  • Technical Support Immediately Available

A Case for Hosted Telecommunications - Intelligent Business Communication Systems

Main Office - Hosted Telecommunications

The Problem: As businesses grow their communication and data needs increase simultaneously. For many expanding businesses that own a basic PBX system and have a few phone lines from their local dial-tone provider find it difficult to justify the incremental cost associated with adding additional analog lines or purchasing a voice T1. IT managers and decision makers have the added challenge to assess the acquisition of new communication solutions, applications and infrastructure investment that fit future business needs. This can be a difficult assessment to make as technology evolves at such a quick pace; equipment and software can become outdated quickly. However, there is an alternative, Hosted Telecommunications.

Benefits:

  • Direct Inward Dialing (DID) for each extension
  • Reduced cost by converging voice and data over the same or separate low cost connections

  • Company Wide Call Management: setup separate departments or hunt groups for better incoming call management; incoming callers can choose department destinations without going through a staffed receptionist.
  • Presence aware: see when remote or off-site co-workers are on the phone or not on the phone for better internal call management; incoming calls can be transferred, conferenced or placed on hold.
  • Main number Auto Attendant answers the phone and provides the caller with destination options, even to remote or off-site worker locations.
  • Control Multiple Personal Greetings for your direct extension/DID number (direct inward dial).
  • Answer multiple calls simultaneously without purchasing additional phone lines.
